Meet Makala

Meet Makala Washington, a dedicated Texan, mother of three, and former military wife. As a small business owner and substitute teacher deeply rooted in our community since 2014, I bring firsthand experience and a strong commitment to making a difference.

With a tenacious spirit and a mindset reminiscent of a bear protecting its cubs, I aim to be the new voice for the working class. My mission is to fight for what's fair and right, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to live comfortably in a safe place to call home. Together, let's build a stronger, more inclusive future for our community.

As an experienced political professional, I am overjoyed to see such a genuine person to lend themselves to public service. Makala represents the best in us, and what I believe true Texans are: earnest, God-fearing lovers of country. Makala is a proud mother, hardworking business owner, and unwavering champion of the underdog. She would represent a breath of fresh air in Austin.

“Excellence is never an accident. It is the result of high intention, sincere effort, and intelligent execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives. Choice, not chance, determines Makala as a person who will go the distance in what she believes in."

"Makala, has always been a self starter independent young lady. She's the person you want on your team give her a task go away and she will get it done by herself or organize a team to help out. She has experience beyond her age. Makala is not a quitter, but a fighter and survivor she deserves your support and vote."
